The blue agave plant is known as the plant that is used to make tequila. Agaves are a type of succulent plant from Mexico and the southwestern parts of the United States.
Contrary to the popular belief, it is not part of the cactus family. While both plants are certainly succulents and have little spikes on them, the similarities end there.
